A Warm Welcome from our Captain
As we enter 2019 I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support, courtesy and encouragement during what has been a very busy time for the Club during the Festive Period.
I regard it as a great honour and privilege to be Captain of ADGC, a Club with a long history of many fine and proud achievements and traditions. I look forward to your continued support throughout my Captaincy year.
I am particularly grateful to past Captain Graham Sharpe who supported me throughout last year, and to many past and present officers for their guidance.
We have an excellent mens playing membership, ladies section (Ladies Captain Caroline and Vice Captain JuliA), a thriving Seniors’ group (Captain Keith and Vice Captain Graham) and an enthusiastic and talented Junior Section led by Penny Cairns (Captain Chloe). We will also have representation in various league competitions.
The support of the social membership is also appreciated.
Support manifests itself in many ways both on and off the Course, particularly regarding Social and Club events, the success of which directly benefits us all.
You will no doubt be aware of the demise of a number of nearby Golf Clubs over the past months, so it is important that we continue to be focused on all aspects concerned with the continued success of ADGC.
Please remember ask yourself “not what your Club can do for you, but rather, what can you do for your Club”.
In this regard my thanks go to all Committee members who work extremely hard, giving freely of their time on your behalf, so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of your membership.
The upkeep of the course by the ground staff, the running of the pro-shop, catering, clubhouse management and Club administration, is also greatly appreciated.
The same is true of the large number of volunteers who do trojan work on and around the course. Our Club continues to be highly rated by many near and far - we are very fortunate.
I am looking forward with great enthusiasm to 2019 and to the many opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
We have a great friendly Club, of which all members should be proud, and I would encourage everyone to promote ADGC positively and at every available opportunity.
Charities during my year of office are:-
