Congratulations to all those who took part in the first of the Ashby Decoy Ladies Open Day Competitions on Sunday 6th June. Despite a terrible weather forecast and a wet morning 42 teams took part and 21 different clubs were represented from Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire. 7 different clubs featured in the Prizes.

We all had a fantastic evening on our traditional Opening to the Ladies Golfing Calendar. Our host was Lady Captain Margaret Clark-Coates. Guests included our President Joan Kaye and the Captains wife Glen McCellan.

A lovely meal was served by our chef Robert Young. Great service was had from our Steward Margaret Young and her staff. We had lots of laughter, chatter and catching up with friends and entertainment from a fabulous magician, Gary Mackaill. Gary is one of our clubs past members and was a welcome visitor as well as our entertainer for the evening. Since the Ladies Dinner we have welcomed 2 new ladies to our Section. Marilyn, who has moved into the area from the London area and Hillary, who has moved into the area from Wales. We hope they enjoy their golf at Ashby Decoy and join in with our social life.
